“…you only get just one time around, you only get one shot at this
one chance to find out the one thing that you don’t wanna miss
one day when it’s all said and done i hope you see that it was enough
this one ride, one try, one life to love…”

~ from “one life to love”.. by 33 miles

So.. have ya ever thought you’d just wait it out, see what happens, and then decide to act? Does it work?

Maybe sometimes…

But how often does your opportunity just pass you by.. and then you miss it..

We only have one life. One chance to get it right. One opportunity to love and to make the most of the life we’ve been given. “One chance to find out the one thing that you don’t wanna miss.”

What’s the one thing you don’t want to miss? What is in the process of passing right by you without you even noticing?

I’ve found myself doing it too. Getting so wrapped up in waiting for perfection in everything.. just that rightness of it all.. never noticing the fact that it’s there right in front of my face, waiting for me to discover it. And so I wait.. and wait.. and wait some more. And the little things in life keep moving as I wait.

But I don’t want to miss those little things. I want to jump in with both feet and notice the sun shining on my face.. to take advantage of the opportunities I’m given.

Is it risky? Yes. Will I get hurt? Maybe.

As Punky Brewster says, though, “Henry, Henry, Henry! — LIFE is risky!”

I would rather take the risk though and know in my heart that I lived fully, that I found the one thing I didn’t want to miss — and that I didn’t miss it. And I intend to make it count. I don’t want life to pass me by as I wait but never recognize it.

Every minute needs to count.. as I live intentionally..
