“… It’s jest that they’ve got sorter lost looking for God, being under the impression that He’s hard to find — which He ain’t never.” These are Captain Jim’s words in L.M.Montgomery’s book, Anne’s House of Dreams.

He’s always here.. and He is never hard to find.

Sometimes people get the notion in their heads, though, that He is hard to find.. and I think that.. just maybe that is more often than not because they don’t want to find Him. Maybe whatever is going on in life is easier to explain away by just ignoring Him altogether? I don’t know.. Can’t really comprehend that myself.

Or.. I guess.. maybe it’s just that they’ve gotten lost like Captain Jim said. I kinda get the impression that a lot of people think there is some secret recipe for finding God and getting to know Him.. or some sort of magic words that you have to say.

But there’s no secret recipe, no abra-cadabra words.

All we have to do is seek Him. Just really want to find Him and seek after Him.. and you’ll find Him.

Jeremiah 29:12-13 says, “Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”

He so wants us to seek Him. To be humble and pray to Him and turn away from the direction we’re heading [2 Chronicles 7:14]. That’s all it takes. And we’ll find Him.

Anybody who wants to change the world.. this is the way to do it. Really seeking Him will change your life dramatically, and that in turn will have an effect on those around you, and so on, creating a chain reaction of seeking to know God and live for Him.
