“I will lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and Mount Moriah]–From whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip or to be moved; He Who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand [the side not carrying a shield]. The sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.” — Psalm 121, Amplified Bible

This chapter keeps surfacing as I read, study, and just live. It keeps emphasizing to me how He who made all things is always watching out for us. Seems like the same thing that is constantly coming up, but it sure is a good thing, seeing as how I know I need to be reminded so much. And I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one.

So I spent this morning with the kids… 🙂  We played some baseball and a sort of hide-and-seek tag in the dark downstairs, among other stuff. [As a sidenote, I think maybe they will all have a band together before ya know it, between the 4 of them! It could happen… 😉 ] Amy had posted online that Liz sang “Mighty to Save” (or “Conquer the Grave”, as she calls it) at the top of her lungs during Jon’s treatment the other day.. and this morning I had the opportunity to experience that too! The video below is just a small portion, but still it shows her unashamedness in singing and sharing about our God.

Two more days! His last treatment is Friday, and then they’ll have appointments in Cincinnati every week or two, apparently, for a while. Then in about 3 months they will do another test.. I think Amy said another MRI. Because they can’t tell much until then, due to swelling and such.

God is big, and I so believe He is using all of this to heal Jon. I can think of so many lives that have already been touched and changed through this family, and only God knows how many more will be through the enormity of what He is doing and through His love and peace and healing.

Keep praying, please, for Jon’s hearing and for his processing and thinking so he can get back to his normal. And keep thanking God that he is feeling so well, just really tired. Pray for him as he gets his strength back so he won’t be so worn out as he is right now.

“The LORD your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing.” — Zephaniah 3:17, NIV

Keep praising Him in the storm, praying, and believing along with us, please. The story so far..
