“three in the morning, and i’m still awake
so i picked up a pen and a page
and i started writing just what i’d say
if we were face to face
i’d tell you just what you mean to me
tell you these simple truths

be strong in the Lord
and never give up hope
you’re gonna do great things
i already know
God’s got His hand on you
so don’t live life in fear
forgive and forget
but don’t forget why you’re here
take your time and pray
these are the words i would say

last time we spoke you said you were hurting
and i felt your pain in my heart
i want to tell you that i keep on praying
that love will find you where you are
i know cause i’ve already been there
so please hear these simple truths

say… from one simple life to another
i will say… come find peace in the Father

be strong in the Lord
and never give up hope
you’re gonna do great things
i already know
God’s got His hand on you
so don’t live life in fear
forgive and forget
but don’t forget why you’re here
take your time and pray
and thank God for each day
His love will find a way
these are the words i would say”
– “the words i would say” by sidewalk prophets

These words seem so appropriate to the events of the past few days.

A precious life was cut far too short Friday night. A life that God was not finished with yet.. and now there is a hole where there should instead be a friend. There is hurt where smiles and laughter should be found. And there are questions that will never be answered this side of heaven.

There are no words to describe what we’re in the midst of. I don’t understand it. And yet I can honestly say that I know God is up to something bigger than any of us can know. I know He didn’t want these circumstances to come about, but neither has this surprised Him in the least. He has every intention of using this for good, for His glory (Romans 8:28, 37-39).

Throughout it all, He is here. And He is still God. I cannot imagine life without that hope and peace that can only come from Him.

“though my heart is breaking
and my faith is shaking
i’m standing strong ’cause i believe
You have promised me, You’ll never leave”
– from “You will never leave me” by sidewalk prophets

I love this chapter in Psalms.. I know where my help comes from. I have no doubt that it comes from Him. “I lift up my eyes to the mountains — where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.” — Psalm 121:1-2, TNIV

As you go about your day and the days to come.. make sure those around you know how much you love them. People are dear, precious creations of God, and they need to know they are loved. Never assume they know. And live like YOU are loved. Because you are.

Don’t ever forget why you’re here or think you are insignificant. Know that God has an intricate plan for you, for your life that He created just for you. You are far more important and significant than you will ever know in this life. I promise. There is no way to even have a clue just how many lives you touch and the difference you make in them.

Look at Jon’s life and how many people have been touched and changed just by his story, even if they’ve never met him… His tests came back with all good news last week, but they decided he had a seizure rather than a stroke. He is back to not driving. So please be praising for his good news and be still in prayer for him continually. If you’ve not caught up on his story, please take the time to see what God has done over this past year.

The past few days will have a forever effect on so many. Please be praying for each of these people, and specifically for the Williams family.
